Since 2016, we have welcomed twenty-eight businesses to the EVI family, all of which are successful, family-owned businesses. We are humbled and grateful that each family has entrusted their business and family legacy to EVI. We promote specific core values and principles, including a long-term focus, an entrepreneurial culture, financial discipline, decentralization, technological innovation, and employee ownership. Our operating model is designed to support the entrepreneurs and teams who run our operations. Therefore, our business leaders are empowered to make business decisions based on local dynamics, rather than corporate mandates. Given the success of our approach, the EVI family rapidly expanded to include the twenty-eight businesses that we have acquired in addition to our historical operating subsidiary, and we believe that EVI is well-positioned for continued growth.
